I’ve been working around the clock for almost 2 weeks now moving pixels around. When I close my eyes I still see hundreds of little squares dancing. Finally I think it might be finished, though it is the sort of geeky thing that I could tinker with forever really, and I probably will. Based on a computer game that I never quite finished making when I was a teenager, this is an updated version of the animation that I created for the BFC and Skint Records ‘Mirrors’ film challenge. Works best full screen with headphones.
A recent photo shoot for the Karavan Ensemble’s ‘A Light Through The Night’ Performance at Coachwerks
This is a promo video I made for a raw chocolate company who produce fun ‘Mayan Magic’ chocolate-making kits. Another stop-frame animation using a similar technique that I used in Matches. I had real fun fighting against my melancholy tendencies to make some upbeat the music for a change!
Thanks to all who came to our Photo Fringe exhibition. I really enjoyed the launch night on Thursday. For those of you who couldn’t make it here are a couple of my pics.
William’s first short film – Meat – which I co-wrote and helped in the production of a couple of years ago, is now on YouTube.
I finally got round to editing together some video I took on an impromptu trip to Stonehenge for the summer solstice with William, Jo, Madalena and Lorena. I used a piece of electronic music that I created years ago, which always sounded like the right sort of tune to go with a sunset/sunrise.
I just noticed that my One + One article on the work of Jonas Mekas is featured as the number four online resource on the subject on the Underground Film Guide. Pretty cool.
Here is a link to our Photo Fringe exhibition page. Now I just need to take some photos to exhibit!
The opening night at Coachwerks should be really great. There will be live music, a bar, and food available…and some photography too if that’s what you’re after.
I’ll be harassing people on Facebook with invites and reminders soon.
I have recently been asked by Getaway Earth to create some promotional films for their clients’ holiday properties. The brief was to create films that stand out in the holiday rentals market and provide an ‘emotional pull’ for potential guests. Here is the first one that I made for John Hobson, owner of Windermere Lodges in the Lake District.
I was in Bath when I found this interesting perspective on Royal Crescent. I think the houses will make for an interesting audience for whatever I end up placing in the foreground.
